Civic Café: Getting to Know St. Louis City Government

February 14, 2023
5:30 pm - 7:00 pm
Stix House, 6470 Forsyth Boulevard, Clayton, Missouri 63105 (United States)

Boards of aldermen, city councils, mayors, and 88 municipalities – St. Louis City and County governments can sound a bit like a maze to navigate. It is hard to know where to get involved or get started impacting social change through local government, especially without a clear vision of how it functions. With the St. Louis City Municipal elections coming up in April, it is the right time to start growing your knowledge of the government structures around WashU.

On Tuesday, February 14 from 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., the Gephardt Institute of Civic and Community Engagement will be joined by Pat Kelly of the Metro St. Louis Municipal League to host a Civic Skill Building Event focused on helping students develop the skills they need to understand St. Louis County and City governments and get involved.

Speaker:
Pat Kelly, Municipal League of Metro St. Louis
