STIX HOUSE LIVING ROOM
Join Jahnavi Rao for an engaging conversation about youth voter engagement organizations and strategies before the crucial November election!
Jahnavi Rao is the founder and president of New Voters, a youth-led, 501(c)3 non-profit that coordinates large-scale outreach to youth across the country and trains them to run voter registration drives in their communities. Coming all the way from D.C, Jahnavi will share her civic engagement story and her youth-led, civic engagement organization, New Voters. Jahnavi founded New Voters when she was in high school and has expanded the organization to a national and policy level, facilitating voter registration drives in high schools across the country and discussing voter-friendly legislation with politicians. Relying on high school and college students from all over to run the organization, Jahnavi will share how WashU students can promote youth civic engagement on our campus, in St. Louis, and at a nationwide level, whether that be through New Voters, WashU Votes, Gephardt Institute events and opportunities, or through another medium.
This event is co-sponsored by the Washington University Model United Nations Symposium (WUMUNS). Please RSVP below.
