Housing Insecurity in St. Louis

Join Habitat for Humanity to learn about the issues surrounding homelessness in St. Louis area. We will be visiting the Habitat office to learn about what they do, and to volunteer at Habitat for Humanity ReStore, which organizes and resells donated furniture and hardware. We will be helping out with a wide range of tasks such as sweeping, and moving and organizing furniture and hardware. This is a great opportunity to learn about what Habitat does and how they tackle substandard housing locally and internationally.

This excursion will be available for up to 15 students.

Physical requirements: We will be taking part in activities such as sweeping, organizing, and unloading heavy furniture, so be prepared for lots of hands-on work and moving around.

Note: Students participating in this excursion are expected to bring a UPass since the group will take public transit to the excursion site. If this is an issue please notify the Meet St. Louis Coordinator at MeetStLouis@wustl.edu, immediately.
