WUPD Presents: Bike to Soulard, Walk Away Inspired

Join WUPD as we focus on the ubiquitous bicycle, both as transportation and inspiration. WUPD’s Certified Police Cyclist Instructor, Corporal Ed Bartelme, will provide tips for effective and safe cycling while enlightening students on state cycling and pedestrian laws. Utilizing ‘Bike St. Louis’ routes, WUPD Bike Patrol Officers will then escort participants on a leisurely bike ride through Forest Park, Tower Grove Park, and finally to historic Soulard. Once there, we will have lunch at Capitalist Pig BBQ, followed by a tour of St. Louis BWorks; a bike-centric non-profit that inspires youth to pursue their dreams, care for the world around them, and explore new possibilities through experiential learning.

This excursion will be available for up to 15 students.

Physical requirements: Must be able to ride a bicycle at a leisurely pace for a distance of 8 to 10 miles.

Note: Students participating in this excursion are expected to bring a UPass since the group will take public transit to the excursion site. If this is an issue please notify the Meet St. Louis Coordinator at MeetStLouis@wustl.edu, immediately.
