Allison Lageose

Director of Community Engagement, Beyond Housing

Allison Lageose serves as the Director of Community Engagement for Beyond Housing, a comprehensive, nationally recognized, place-based community development agency whose mission is to help make entire communities better places to live.  In her role, Allison functions in a variety of capacities—facilitator, supporter, coach, collaborator, connector, celebrator, and organizer—to engage local residents, partners, and stakeholders as change agents in the 24:1 Community.

A native of St. Louis, Allison’s interest in the intersection of race, place, and equity of opportunity began in Chicago, where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Chicago and volunteered as a tutor for students on Chicago’s South Side.  Deciding it was best to contribute to the community that helped raise her, Allison left her position with the National Opinion Research Center at the University of Chicago and returned home to Saint Louis to focus on improving the quality of life of all of the region’s residents. Since her return, Allison has dedicated her professional career to the nonprofit sector, focusing on capacity building, and gone on to earn a master’s degree in Industrial-Organizational Psychology.  She currently volunteers on the board of a local credit union and resides in Creve Coeur with her husband, David, and three children.
