Cameron Thompson
Resident with The Griot Museum for Black History
Cameron Thompson, class of 2023, is from Columbia, MO, and is majoring in International and Area Studies and in Communication Design. She is a Deneb Scholar and is looking towards international business and architecture for future pursuits. Cameron will be in residence at The Griot Museum for Black History to help plan two major exhibitions – “#1 in Civil Rights “ and an exhibition that explores the history and influence of Black theater. She will assist in the mounting of the exhibitions as well as in the creation of educational and public materials and events surrounding them. The Griot is also a partner in the Gateway Greening Project which will run directly in front of the museum and Cameron will assist in the work around how to tell the story of the history of the neighborhood. She will work directly with the founder and director Lois Conley as well as with curators.
