Kirkwood will host its 3rd annual Honeysuckle Hackathon in Meramec Highlands Quarry at Dee Koestering Park (Quarry Park), October 21-26, and volunteers are needed. Kirkwood Parks’ Department has fought invasive bush honeysuckle for years. The goal for this fall’s event is eradicating it from Quarry Park, an area of approximately nine acres.
Three-hour shifts are available from 8am-6:30 pm, Monday-Friday and 8am-4:30 pm, Saturday. Refreshments and hand tools are provided. A celebration will end the week-long removal efforts.
