Volunteer for St. Louis Ovarian Cancer Awareness 5k

St. Louis Ovarian Cancer Awareness (SLOCA) is an organization committed to impacting ovarian cancer survivorship by promoting awareness of the early warning signs and standard of care, funding ovarian cancer research, and supporting survivors. Families Run for Ovarian Cancer, the upcoming 5K/1 mile walk/run, is a fundraiser as well as a celebration of ovarian cancer survivors. The race was started 13 years ago by the Jorgensen family whose mother Brenda was battling ovarian cancer. This year’s race will take place on Sunday, October 13 at Soldier’s Memorial in downtown St. Louis.

Volunteers are needed for packet pickup at Big River Running in West County on Friday, October 11 (shifts from 1pm-4pm or 4pm-7pm) and Saturday, October 12 (shifts from 1pm-4pm or 4pm-6pm). The day of the race, Sunday, October 13, volunteers are needed for race setup, race day registration, course crew, water station management, help at the finish line, and race clean up.
