Lojain Elkhidir

Lojain Elkhidir is a Stern Family Civic Scholar from Doha, Qatar majoring in biology and minoring in psychological and brain sciences and medical humanities in the College of Arts & Sciences. She is interested in supporting survivors of gender-based violence (GBV).

For her civic summer, Lojain worked with PurpLE Health Foundation (PHF), a non-profit organization that provides free, trauma-informed healthcare to survivors of GBV. She worked on piloting their workshop series on collaborative healthcare for medical students in the USA. These workshops were led by survivor educators to center survivor narratives in healthcare and put their experiences at the forefront of medical education.
