Each year, Washington University’s Brown School partners with Gephardt Institute for Civic and Community Engagement to award one Gephardt Fellow with full tuition.
As part of the award, the selected fellow will work for ten hours per week with the Gephardt Institute staff and programs. The Gephardt Fellow plays an integral role in advancing the Gephardt Institute’s mission and deepening its impact through programming and services.
Only MSW applicants and admitted students can apply to this opportunity. Advance standing students are ineligible. Those seeking a dual- or joint-degree may apply if able to commit to the four consecutive semester requirement, but will only be eligible for the scholarship during semesters enrolled in the Master of Social Work program.
As a Master’s of Social Work candidate, the fellow is expected to be an active community member and leader at the Brown School. Additionally, the Gephardt Fellow should also recognize that the Gephardt Institute serves the entire university, and be prepared to become familiar and work with other schools and departments.
Please review the fellowship position description to understand the full scope of Gephardt Fellow responsibilities over two years (four academic semesters).
If you are interested in the Gephardt Institute Fellowship, please complete the online application below. The review committee will take your written responses into consideration along with your application to the Brown School.
Finalists will receive email communication to schedule a Zoom interview.
