On Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2024, from 5:30 to 7 p.m., the Gephardt Institute will be hosting a Civic Skill Building Workshop: Incorporating Pleasure into Civic Action.
Being actively engaged in civic life: voting at every election, going to aldermen/school board meetings, contacting elected officials, advocating for issues, and so much more, can feel overwhelming, and can begin to feel like a chore or lead to burnout. But what if we could reframe how we engage as active citizens? What if we engaged from a pleasure-centered approach? Join us and our guest workshop leaders, Dalychia Saah and Molly Pearson Assistant Professors of Practice for sexual health and education at the Brown School, as we explore how we can find the sources of pleasure in civic action. Tap into what makes this work pleasurable for you for now and in the future.
We are excited to host an evening of insightful discussion, practical skill-building, and the opportunity to connect with a diverse community of passionate folks!
