In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, an unprecedented number of Americans will vote by mail this year and it may take longer than usual to determine election results. Paired with a highly polarized political environment, fear and mistrust are growing within the American public regarding our country’s ability to conduct a safe, fair and valid election – making way for several volatile post-election scenarios unlike anything we have seen in recent history. It will be vital that we exercise our patience as a public to ensure that every vote is counted, prepare to await election results well beyond November 3, and defend the legitimacy and integrity of our elections.
Please join us for a discussion on the integrity of our elections, featuring a bi-partisan group of former elected officials from Count Every Vote’s National Council on Election Integrity. Panelists will discuss the current challenges facing our democracy and election process, and how you can support safe and secure elections.
Hosted by the Gephardt Institute for Civic and Community Engagement, Brown School at Washington University in St. Louis, and School of Law at Washington University in St. Louis.
