Staying informed about the current crisis is one important forms of engaged citizenship. But how do you know that the information you are consuming is reliable and accurate? This is an ideal time to develop your information literacy. The American Library Association defines information literacy as “a set of abilities requiring individuals to recognize when information is needed and have the ability to locate, evaluate, and use effectively the needed information.”
The Washington University Libraries have created a resource guide to help you find information you can trust about the virus, how it spreads, and how to protect yourself. As we prepare for its spread across the United States, we want to be sure our campus is informed and ready to deal with the effects of the virus. Learn more here.
