Fabric Stories™️
Artist in The Little Things Art Exhibition
Artist Statement
Fabric Stories ™️ is a project created for participants to share their stories and emotions in an hands on creative way.
Fabric Stories are created by choosing specific fabric colors to express an emotion about a personal story or event the story maker wants to share. The entire installation includes the Fabric Stories of approximately 60 students from Lizzy’s Kids, Bryan Hill Elementary School, and college students from the Community Art Engagement class at Washington University.
During this process, students also verbally told their stories. Some personalized their Fabric Story by attaching a small card to their story with a special message, their name, a loved one’s name, or important date.
