Disha Chatterjee

Disha Chatterjee is a Bob and Gerry Virgil Civic Scholar from Houston, TX majoring in Cognitive Neuroscience and minoring in Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies in the College of Arts & Sciences. She worked at the Department of Justice’s Office on Violence Against Women over the summer, where she conducted an independent research project on sexual abuse within prisons. She also conducted reports on child marriage and tribal sovereignty for the Director, and worked on organizing conferences and speaking engagements that connected the Office with local and national gender-based violence organizations, as well as state and local government leaders.
