With long-term care facilities across the country under complete lockdown, residents can feel increasingly isolated and forgotten.
- Send cards to your local long-term care facilities. Include a message of hope to remind residents that you’re thinking of them.
- Volunteer to make phone calls to check-in on residents/other older adults in the community. Sign up as a Care Caller for older adults with St. Louis County Human Services here.
- Are you a musician? Call your local long-term care facility to see if you can serenade the residents from outside the facility.
- What other creative ways can you show older adults that they are not alone?
