Bridge Bread Bakery is a social business enterprise providing job opportunities to people experiencing homelessness or who are housing insecure, while educating and cultivating the bakers of tomorrow. Bakery products are distributed to area churches, hotels, restaurants, businesses, and universities. 70% of income from sales goes to bakers’ salaries, so the bakery relies heavily on volunteers.
They are currently seeking volunteers at the retail location on Cherokee to work weekly shifts of 2-4 hours, ringing up sales and completing other tasks such as making coffee and wiping tables.
In addition, there are several opportunities for one-time projects such as painting and deep cleaning. The bakery also needs volunteers to help with the bread truck, a mobile bake shop that visits area events, businesses, and schools.
