Alex Shing

Alex Shing ’24 is a Stern Family Civic Scholar from Saratoga, California. He majored in environmental biology and minored in global health and the environment in the College of Arts & Sciences.

During his Civic Summer, Alex immersed himself in the East St. Louis Community by volunteering at the JJK FAN Center to run a soil screening with the EPA for lead contamination. He plans to continue his civic work by collaborating with local Metro East partners to establish an Environmental Justice Academy in the Spring.

After graduation, Alex plans to attend the UC Berkeley School of Public Health.
