Associate Director for Civic Engagement

Dr. Alannah Glickman is the Associate Director for Civic Engagement at the Gephardt Institute. Alannah joined the Gephardt Institute in March 2022 and leads the institute’s civic engagement vision, strategy, and impact to advance the goals of educating all students for lifelong engaged citizenship and infusing civic engagement throughout the Washington University student experience. 

Alannah recently earned a Ph.D. in Public Policy and Management from the Glenn College of Public Affairs at the Ohio State University. During her doctoral studies, Alannah conducted research on public participation in policymaking processes and taught undergraduate courses related to theories and practice of civic engagement.  

Alannah graduated with honors from Washington University in St. Louis with a Bachelor’s degree in International Studies and Economics. Alannah also holds a Master of Science in Agriculture, Food, and Environment from Tufts University’s Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy. Originally from Toronto, Canada, Alannah is excited to return to the St. Louis region and enjoy the city’s parks and live music with her family and friends.
