Bill Frymoyer, LA85, is MEMA’s Vice President of Public Policy, leading most government relations efforts for the motor vehicle supplier association. Bill is the principal Washington, DC liaison with Capitol Hill and the Executive Branch for MEMA. He enjoys understanding, shaping, and conveying the national public policy issue perspective of more than 900 MEMA member companies with more than 900,000 employees across the country. Frymoyer joined MEMA in 2019.
From 2005-2019, Frymoyer was Senior Advisor and directed the government relations practice at Stewart & Stewart, a leading international trade law firm. He established and executed client Capitol Hill and Executive Branch priorities on a range of trade and manufacturing issues. Frymoyer also assisted them with coalition, grassroots, and media strategies.
Prior to that, Frymoyer served as Senior Policy Advisor to House Democratic Leader Richard A. Gephardt. In that capacity, he led for Gephardt and House Democrats on international trade as well as agricultural, energy, environment, and tax issues. He handled legislative strategy, Senate, and White House/agency relations for those issues. He was also the liaison for Gephardt with non-governmental organizations (NGOs), working on messaging and media strategies. Frymoyer started with Congressman Gephardt’s office in 1991 as Research Director.
Frymoyer received his MA in International Economics from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies and his BA from Washington University in St. Louis.
