Sydney Hlavaty

Sydney Hlavaty (she/her) is a Marketing and Communications Photographer at Gephardt! She handles event photography and headshots, as well as editing, cataloguing, and uploading photos to the Gephardt archives to be used on social platforms and in promotional material. Sydney is currently in her fourth year of undergraduate studies at Washington University in St. Louis, and she’ll be graduating in Spring 2024 with a Bachelor of the Arts in Studio Art with a concentration in Photography, a second major in Cognitive Neuroscience, and a minor in Classics. 

She is thrilled to be a part of a wonderful team committed to fostering civic engagement and can’t wait to get more involved with art-related projects in and throughout St. Louis. She is very grateful to have participated as a showing artist in The Little Things, a student-curated art exhibition hosted by the Gephardt Institute in Spring 2023. Outside of class, Sydney serves as the President of Cast n’ Crew, WashU’s largest fully-student run theatre organization on campus. She also works as a photographer for Student Transitions and Family Programs and WUShoots, a student-run photography business on campus! She spends her free time rock climbing, reading, and visiting art galleries throughout the city.
